One of Hindi digital journalism’s most recognisable names, Saurabh Dwivedi, has stepped down from his position at The Lallantop. After leading the platform since its early days and playing a central role in shaping its distinctive style, Dwivedi decided to move on, bringing an end to an association that lasted more than a decade.
He shared the announcement publicly through a heartfelt post on X, reflecting on how the venture grew from a small experimental newsroom into a mainstream media success. Dwivedi credited his colleagues, viewers, and the wider journalistic community for turning Lallantop into a brand known for explainers, interviews, and ground-level political coverage delivered in simple conversational Hindi.
The India Today Group, which owns The Lallantop, has initiated a transition plan following his exit. Senior team members have been assigned new responsibilities to ensure continuity of editorial operations. Reports indicate that Dwivedi intends to take a brief professional break before starting a new chapter in his career, possibly outside the current organisation.
His tenure is widely remembered for programmes that connected strongly with young audiences and for introducing a relatable approach to news presentation. With this resignation, an important era closes at Lallantop—while new possibilities open for the journalist who helped build it from scratch.
