FAQ
What is a SIP?
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is a method of investing a fixed amount in mutual funds at regular intervals (usually monthly). It helps build wealth gradually through disciplined investing.
Is this calculator accurate?
This calculator uses the standard SIP future value formula assuming a constant rate of return. Actual mutual fund returns vary and are not guaranteed. Use this as an estimate, not a guarantee.
What is Step-Up SIP?
Step-Up SIP (also called Top-Up SIP) allows you to increase your monthly SIP amount by a fixed percentage every year. For example, a 10% step-up on ₹5,000 SIP means you invest ₹5,500 in year 2, ₹6,050 in year 3, and so on.
What return rate should I use?
Historically, large-cap mutual funds in India have given 10–12% annual returns over the long term, while mid/small-cap funds have given 13–16%. Debt funds typically give 6–8%. Use 12% as a conservative estimate for equity SIPs.
