Every Memorial Day weekend, Madison, Wisconsin, transforms into a sizzling celebration of tradition, taste, and togetherness. From May 23 to May 25, 2025, the World’s Largest Brat Fest returns to Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center, uniting locals and travelers alike in a full-blown Midwest spectacle built around one humble but heroic food: the bratwurst.
This year’s Brat Fest marks over four decades of community pride, charitable giving, and bold, brat-filled fun — and 2025 promises to be bigger, bolder, and brat-ier than ever before.

🌭 A Festival Rooted in Community (And Brats)
What began in 1983 as a small customer appreciation cookout hosted by a local grocery store has since evolved into a record-setting cultural celebration. Now officially recognized as the “World’s Largest Brat Fest,” the event has become a charitable powerhouse, raising over $2.75 million to support 100+ local nonprofits — all while grilling up hundreds of thousands of brats each year.
At Brat Fest, every brat eaten fuels goodwill. Volunteers from across Dane County serve the food, staff the booths, and perform on stage, with proceeds flowing directly into the local community. It’s where flavor meets philanthropy.

- 1K Lil’ Brats Run (8:00 AM) – for kids 12 & under
- 5K Bun Run (8:30 AM)
- 10K Bun Run (8:35 AM)
- 5K Brat Walk / Hot Dog Jog (8:35 AM)
Participants receive a free brat or hot dog, a commemorative shirt, and a medal — plus access to post-run festivities.
