Ola S1 Gen 3 Range Launch Date Revealed

Ola Electric is set to launch its Gen 3 S1 electric scooter range in India on January 31, 2025. This new lineup introduces significant technological advancements aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency.

Key Features of the Gen 3 Platform:

  • In-House Developed Battery Pack: Ola has developed a proprietary battery pack for the Gen 3 scooters, utilizing lithium-ion cells produced at its Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu.
  • Magnetless Electric Motor: The new scooters feature magnetless motors that use magnetized electrical coils instead of permanent magnets, resulting in higher torque output.
  • Integrated Structural Design: The motor, battery, and electronics are combined into a single unit, which is then integrated into the scooter’s chassis, acting as a stressed member. This design reduces weight and enhances performance.

Benefits of the Gen 3 Platform:

By developing key components in-house and sourcing materials domestically, Ola aims to reduce production costs, potentially leading to more affordable pricing for consumers. The company also plans to expand its product lineup to include sporty commuter and touring scooters based on this platform.

The Gen 3 platform is expected to deliver 30% more power while reducing weight by 10% and increasing energy efficiency by 10%.

Ola Electric’s Gen 3 S1 electric scooter range represents a significant step forward in the evolution of electric two-wheelers in India, offering improved performance, efficiency, and affordability.
