President of India Graces the Opening of Amrit Udyan; Public Entry from February 3


The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, today graced the opening of the Amrit Udyan – Winter Annuals Edition 2026 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremonial opening was held on February 1, 2026, marking the beginning of one of the most awaited public garden viewings in the national capital.


Amrit Udyan to Open for Public from February 3

The Amrit Udyan will be open for public viewing from February 3 to March 31, 2026. Visitors can explore the garden six days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the last entry allowed at 5:00 p.m.

  • The Udyan will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance.
  • It will also remain closed on March 4, 2026, on account of Holi.

Special Visiting Days for Specific Categories

In addition to regular public access, special days have been earmarked for specific categories of visitors:

  • March 3 – Defence Personnel
  • March 5 – Senior Citizens
  • March 10 – Women and Tribal Women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  • March 13 – Divyangjan

These special days aim to ensure inclusive access and a comfortable experience for different sections of society.


Free Entry, Online Booking Mandatory

Entry to the Amrit Udyan is completely free of cost. However, to enhance visitor convenience and crowd management, only online booking will be available this year.

  • Tickets can be booked exclusively through the official portal:

  • No on-the-spot booking facility will be provided.
  • Visitors are advised to book their slots well in advance and strictly follow the time slot and instructions mentioned on the ticket.
  • Booking for any particular day will close at 10:00 a.m. on the previous day.

Entry, Exit and Shuttle Bus Facility

  • Entry and exit for all visitors will be through Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, located near the junction of North Avenue and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
  • For visitor convenience, a shuttle bus service will operate from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35 every 30 minutes, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • The last shuttle bus from Central Secretariat Metro Station will depart at 4:00 p.m.

Visitor Route Inside Amrit Udyan

The designated route for visitors will cover several iconic sections of the garden:

Bal Vatika → Plumeria Garden → Banyan Garden → Bonsai Garden → Babbling Brook → Central Lawn → Long Garden → Circular Garden

This carefully curated path ensures that visitors can experience the full diversity and beauty of the Udyan.


Highlights of Amrit Udyan 2026

Apart from vibrant tulips and a wide variety of roses, this year’s edition offers some special attractions:

  • Babbling Brook – a scenic water stream with cascading flows
  • Banyan Garden – featuring reflexology paths designed for wellness and relaxation

Visitors are allowed to carry:

  • Electronic keys
  • Purses/handbags
  • Water bottles
  • Milk bottles for infants
