PM Modi Launches ₹26,000 Cr Development Projects in Rajasthan

On May 22, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. These initiatives span infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and national security, reflecting the government’s commitment to holistic development.

Transforming Infrastructure: Roads, Railways, and Energy

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s significant investment in infrastructure, noting a sixfold increase over the past 11 years. Key projects include the electrification of major railway lines, modernization of over 1,300 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, and the introduction of Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat trains. In Rajasthan, ₹70,000 crore has been invested in road infrastructure, with an additional ₹10,000 crore allocated for railway development this year.

Energy projects were also a focal point, with the inauguration of solar power initiatives in Bikaner and Nawa, and the laying of foundation stones for transmission systems to enhance electricity supply and promote clean energy.

Cultural Integration in Development

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to blend modern infrastructure with cultural heritage. Stations like Mandalgarh in Rajasthan reflect Rajput traditions, while others across India showcase local art and architecture, promoting tourism and preserving cultural identity.

Strengthening National Security: Operation Sindoor

Addressing national security, Prime Minister Modi discussed Operation Sindoor, launched in response to a terrorist attack on April 22. He emphasized a decisive approach to terrorism, stating that any attack would be met with a strong response, and highlighted the operation’s success in neutralizing threats within 22 minutes. The Prime Minister asserted that Pakistan would face significant consequences for any aggression, impacting its military and economy.

Advancing Healthcare and Water Infrastructure

The Prime Minister inaugurated nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur, aiming to bolster healthcare services. Water infrastructure projects, including the Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project in Jhunjhunu and urban water supply schemes in Pali district under AMRUT 2.0, were also launched to improve water availability and quality.

Economic Growth and Employment Opportunities

Highlighting the economic impact of these projects, Prime Minister Modi noted that infrastructure development leads to job creation and boosts local economies. The initiatives are expected to benefit workers, farmers, and businesses, with improved transportation reducing costs and attracting industries. The focus on local products like Bikaneri Bhujia and Rasgullas aims to enhance their global recognition, further strengthening the state’s food processing industry.

These comprehensive development efforts underscore the government’s commitment to building a modern, secure, and prosperous India, with Rajasthan playing a pivotal role in this transformative journey.
