Origin of Goddess Kalaratri

Goddess Kalaratri is one of the fiercest and most powerful manifestations of Goddess Parvati. According to Hindu mythology, when the Goddess removed her outer golden skin to slay the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, she took the form of Goddess Kalaratri. Her name signifies “the one who brings the night of destruction”, making her a formidable force against evil.
