Brics India 2026 Logo Launched
NEW DELHI: India has formally launched the logo and official website for its BRICS Presidency 2026, marking the beginning of preparations for its upcoming chairmanship of the influential multilateral grouping. The launch event took place in New Delhi and was attended by S Jaishankar, who outlined India’s vision, priorities, and thematic focus for the year-long presidency.
India will assume the BRICS chairship at a crucial juncture, as the grouping completes 20 years since its inception, making the 2026 presidency symbolically and strategically significant.

Lotus-Inspired Logo: Symbolism and Meaning
The BRICS India 2026 logo strongly reflects India’s cultural identity while emphasizing the collective spirit of the bloc.
Key design elements include:
- Lotus-shaped structure, inspired by India’s national flower
- Inner petals forming joined hands in a “Namaste”, symbolising respect, dialogue, and cooperation
- Five distinct petals, coloured to represent the founding BRICS nations — Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa
The visual identity underscores unity in diversity, highlighting how different cultures, political systems, and development paths converge within the BRICS framework.
Official BRICS India Website Launched
Alongside the logo, India also unveiled the official BRICS India Presidency website, which will function as a central digital platform during the chairship.
According to Jaishankar, the website will:
- Share information on BRICS meetings and initiatives
- Provide updates on outcomes and declarations
- Enable timely dissemination of official information
- Promote wider engagement among stakeholders and the public
This digital platform is expected to enhance transparency and coordination during India’s presidency.
‘BRICS Brings Countries Together’: Jaishankar’s Message
Referring to the logo and the overarching theme, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India’s presidency would focus on strengthening capacities, promoting innovation, and ensuring sustainable development for the benefit of all member countries.
He described BRICS as a platform that has steadily evolved into a significant force for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies, while remaining rooted in people-centric development and practical collaboration.
India’s BRICS chairship will seek to “bring together the potential of BRICS countries for greater global welfare,” Jaishankar said.
India’s BRICS 2026 Priorities
Outlining the roadmap for India’s chairship, Jaishankar highlighted four broad priorities:
1. Resilience
Strengthening collective ability to respond to global shocks, economic disruptions, and geopolitical uncertainties.
2. Innovation
Encouraging cooperation in technology, digital public infrastructure, research, and emerging sectors.
3. Cooperation
Deepening collaboration across member states in political, economic, and social domains.
4. Sustainability
Focusing on inclusive growth, climate action, and long-term development goals.
These priorities will guide work across the three foundational pillars of BRICS:
- Political and Security Cooperation
- Economic and Financial Collaboration
- Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges
