The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), the apex academic and research institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, has taken a significant step towards advancing digital and evidence-based Ayurveda by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Ayurveda Education, Innovation & Technology (CAYEIT). The collaboration aims to promote cutting-edge research, technology transfer, and innovative educational models within the Ayurvedic ecosystem.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Vd.) P. K. Prajapati, Director of AIIA, on behalf of the institute, and Prof. Dr. Abhimanyu Kumar, Chairman and CEO of CAYEIT, representing his organization. The agreement underscores a shared commitment to integrating modern technology with traditional Ayurvedic wisdom.
Strengthening Ayurveda Through Technology and Innovation
The signing ceremony was held at the Brihaspati Dev Triguna Auditorium, AIIA, New Delhi. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mahapatra Arun Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya, AIIA. This was followed by a detailed briefing on the objectives and scope of the MoU by Shri Aviral Apurva, Chief Education & Technology Officer, CAYEIT.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Vd.) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, highlighted that the partnership brings together CAYEIT’s technological expertise and AIIA’s strong clinical and academic foundation. He emphasized that the collaboration will empower scholars and researchers to convert classical Ayurvedic knowledge into globally relevant, scientifically validated healthcare solutions.
Expert Talk on Artificial Intelligence in Ayurveda
The event witnessed the presence of several eminent academicians, including Prof. Rajagopala S., Dean (Research) and Head, Department of Kaumarabhritya, and Prof. Manjusha Rajagopala, Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda, University of Delhi, and Head, Department of Shalakya, alongside the Director of AIIA.
Following the MoU ceremony, Prof. Dr. Abhimanyu Kumar, former Director of AIIA, delivered an insightful expert lecture titled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Ayurveda.” In his address, he demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) can be effectively used to analyze classical Ayurvedic texts and clinical data to enable personalized, Prakriti-based treatment approaches. He also emphasized the role of Network Pharmacology in generating global scientific evidence for Ayurvedic formulations and practices.
Expanding National and International Collaboration
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya, AIIA New Delhi. With this latest partnership, AIIA has now signed a total of 74 national MoUs and 20 international MoUs, reflecting its growing role as a global hub for Ayurveda education, research, and innovation.
The AIIA–CAYEIT MoU marks a crucial step towards integrating advanced technologies with traditional medicine, paving the way for a more evidence-driven, globally accepted, and future-ready Ayurveda system.
